So there are all kinds of legends. Sports ones, Babe Ruth calling his shot. Movie ones, the horse head in "The Godfather" being based on the events surrounding Frank Sinatra being cast in "From Here To Eternity". No one knows if any of these legends actually happened, but they're fun to talk about and believe in. One of my favorites was told by Paul McCartney where he claims that the weekend after "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band" came out, in what amounts to about three days, he saw Jimi Hendrix in concert. Hendrix sees him in the front row and decides to open the concert with a jam-ass rendition of Sgt Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band. Jimi's version of course blows Paul's mind and he goes back to John, George and Ringo and says we should never play Sgt Pepper's live. Great story! Probably extremely exaggerated but nevertheless a jam-ass version it was! Enjoy!
