The Very Last Star Wars Poster.....The Tears Well Up

Here it is, the last Star Wars poster. Painted by Drew Struzan, who is quite brilliant and has been doing posters for a very long time. He did one of the first Indiana Jones posters for Raiders. He recently did a gorgous painting for the 10 year anniversary of The Shawshank Redemption. He did all the SW Special Edition posters in 1997 and has done the final release posters for all the prequels. I love the ominous presence of Vader looming in the background....but minus points for a lack of Greivous!! Anywho, here it is....enjoy!

Finally, the end is in site. With all this hype Keoki, I hope that this film lives up to what you have be throwing our way.

Again, this is not Ech....

Enough Star Wars! After ROTS your life will have no further purpose. With all the hype, I think it's gonna be disappointing. The only good part the canowine pointed out the other day is they get to kill all their new characters. I hope Jarjar dies a horrible death.

by the way, this is Ech...

God I'm sick of Star Wars... It stopped being interesting two decades ago. In 1977 it was visionary, now it's just a merchandizing franchise for George Lucus, Inc. and a vehicle for bad writing, two dimentional acting, and perversly excessive digital effects.

It's embarassing.

...also embarrassing is my spelling of "embarassing."

epm - SW is a merchandising franchise, a vehicle for bad writing, 2-dimensional acting, and excessive digital effects.

But the light sabers!!!

You have to approach this like you would a kung fu flick...you know that awful dialogue and a non-plot are going to be a part of it, but you just have to see the Shaolin kick some Wu-Tang ASS!!... or Tang Lung in an epic battle with Colt, America's Best, at the Coliseum!

Right, Keoki?

I don't have the heart to say anything mean about it after all of these comments.

But the light sabers!!!.

All these guy whipping around their light sabers is a little too Freudian for me.... Not that there's anything wrong with that.

As for the rest of it, if they only had cast Jackie Chan as Obi Wan, I might feel differently.

Let's just sit back and enjoy what the "merchandizing franchise" geez...doesn't anyone know what tongue in cheek is?

Hey Cano, you forgot the fact that the only living being that saw such an awesome battle was a teeny tiny pussy cat.

epm - I sincerely hope you're the only person on earth who thinks of phalluses when someone lights up a saber, which we all know is an elegant weapon for a more civilized time. Even the purple Mace Windu one. I hate to imagine what you think of Wookies. Even worse, the design of Darth's helmet...oh see, all this is really ruining it for me. You've gone and contaminated it.

I don't know, Keoki, my tongue is usually hanging out the side of my drooling mouth. Maybe we should let Tony and Jimmy handle the Japs.

Arethusa, go ahead and fire away. We're used to the abuse. Sometimes we even like it.

Mmmmm.... Wookies....

I don't have to start using those stupid emoticons when I post, do I? I mean, y'all are picking up on my so-call sense of humor, right?

Canowine said...

No need for the emoticons, we're picking up your humor vibe, but that's the only "vibe" of yours we're going to touch!

It just occurred to me that Yoda, though he has a smaller saber, has the most efficient motion of all the Jedi.

You damn people.
